A$AP Rocky will receive the Fashion Icon Award at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards, celebrating his influence and boundary-pushing approach to modern fashion.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) will honour A$AP Rocky with the Fashion Icon title at the upcoming 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards, presented by Amazon Fashion. The 37-year-old artist, entrepreneur and actor will be celebrated for his global influence and bold interpretation of contemporary style.
Born in Harlem, A$AP Rocky has established himself as one of the most innovative figures in fashion. As creative director of Ray-Ban and Puma, he has collaborated with leading brands such as Bottega Veneta, Moncler, Calvin Klein, Gucci and Dior. Through his creative agency AWGE, he has developed projects with Marine Serre, Amina Muaddi, Selfridges, JW Anderson and MTV, while also presenting his own collections during Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
His style is defined by risk-taking and gender-fluid expression — from his iconic 2018 Gucci babushka scarf to lace detailing, pearls, skirts and accessories traditionally associated with womenswear. With every public appearance, Rocky reshapes the boundaries of men’s fashion with a distinctive blend of elegance and rebellion.
At this year’s Cannes Film Festival, the artist made a statement in a white Miu Miu suit paired with a black shirt, reinterpreting the classic tuxedo with his signature twist. As co-chair of the 2025 Met Gala, he wore a custom-made AWGE suit, further cementing his status as a creative force in modern fashion.
“A$AP Rocky is a fashion icon in the purest sense. His vision inspires the industry to think differently,” said Thom Browne, chairman of the CFDA.
The Fashion Icon award, established in 2010, has recognised figures such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Zendaya, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Serena Williams and Pharrell Williams. The ceremony will take place on 3 November at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, where additional special honours will be presented to Ralph Rucci, Cynthia Rowley, Andre Walker, Sara Moonves and Donatella Versace, among other leading names in global design.
