The Seoul Court backs ADOR in the exclusive management of NewJeans, imposing restrictions on contracts and the use of the name “NJZ”.

The Seoul Central District Court has ruled in favour of ADOR in the legal battle for the exclusive management of NewJeans, confirming the company, owned by HYBE, as the only agency with rights over the group.

As part of the ruling, the court granted an injunction preventing the members of NewJeans from signing advertising contracts on their own or through third parties without ADOR’s approval. It was also determined that the group can only be identified as “NewJeans” and not by the name “NJZ,” which was recently used by the members during their rebranding. Furthermore, all the group’s activities must be exclusively managed by the agency.

Following the ruling, ADOR issued a statement expressing gratitude for the judicial decision: “We sincerely appreciate the court’s decision to grant the injunction. With our status as the exclusive agency of NewJeans now legally confirmed, we reaffirm our full commitment to the group.”

The company also confirmed its participation in ComplexCon this weekend to ensure the group’s presentation is made under the official name of NewJeans. Finally, it requested the continued support of the public for the group in this new stage alongside ADOR.
