Airbnb launches design competition for the most daring accommodation ideas

Offering $10 million to make it real.

Airbnb is calling on all architects and designers to submit ideas for the strangest accommodations.

For one month, the platform is accepting submissions from creatives around the world for unusual listings, and is offering $10 million to turn 100 of the winning ideas into actual stays. The competition, called OMG! FundThe 2020 iteration of the company, which initially offered $1 million, follows.

Judging criteria include originality and feasibility, as well as sustainability and experience, and all submissions will be reviewed by a panel of designers including Iris Apfel, Australian architect Koichi Takada, Airbnb vice president Bruce Vaughn, and Airbnb superhost Kristie Wolfe.
