Anne Hathaway praises Generation Z for breathing new life into her style. She attributes her fresh perspective on fashion to their creativity and boldness, seamlessly merging iconic fashion houses with daring approaches.

In recent years, Generation Z has made a significant impact on the zeitgeist, particularly in the realm of fashion. Not long ago, this age group deemed skinny jeans as “cheugy” and moved away from center-parted hairstyles. It appears that we are constantly seeking validation from the younger generation. Even the actress and iconic fashion figure, Anne Hathaway, attributes the resurgence of her fashion sense to Generation Z, and it’s no secret that her style choices have been right on the mark lately.

“I know this might sound like excessive flattery, but I’m genuinely drawn to Generation Z,” Hathaway told Vogue in a recent interview. “They’re a fun generation when it comes to fashion.”

Of course, Hathaway also finds inspiration in prominent fashion houses: we often see her donning garments from Valentino, Versace, and Bvlgari (to name a few). In essence, she believes her fashion renaissance is centered around having more fun with her looks (after all, what’s more fun than Barbie-style pink, sequins, and towering platforms?).

“I feel like designers are having a lot of fun,” she said. “I feel like people are enjoying it. Maybe it was always like this, and maybe I was the only one in the corner watching everyone else have fun. But the ability to enjoy it feels more accessible to me now than ever before.”

Hathaway added that once she broke free and allowed herself to step out of the conventional, she could explore and experiment more with her style. “I thought I could only have one,” she explained. “I felt really lost because I didn’t know what it was until I realized I have many styles. Once I realized that, I felt something click. But that’s just in my case. It’s different. Some people are like, ‘Nope, black turtleneck every day.'”

However, she can’t give all the credit to Generation Z. Of course, her stylist Erin Walsh is also responsible for her array of red carpet moments. “She inspires me,” Anne said. “Her style has really influenced me, and the way she wears garments, whatever they may be, she always does it in the most effortless way.”
