Anya Taylor-Joy doesn’t hide her happiness when talking about her husband, Malcolm McRae. The The Gorge actress, 28, and the musician, 30, have been married since 2022 and share an interesting detail: they were both born on April 16.

During her recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Anya recounted how she met Malcolm in a moment that seemed destined to happen.

“I love him so much. I’m very, very lucky,” she said enthusiastically. The first time they saw each other was in a music studio, and the connection was immediate. “He asked me, ‘When’s your birthday?’ and when I answered, he simply said, ‘I knew it.’”

But beyond the astrological coincidence, the actress highlighted what makes their relationship so special. “Since I was a child, my father taught me that you shouldn’t look for someone to complete you because you are already whole. The ideal is to find another whole person, and together, you become something even greater,” she explained.

With a smile, she concluded, “He helps me grow in unexpected and beautiful ways. He’s the best.”
