The Puerto Rican superstar confirms his upcoming world tour ‘DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS’ will skip the United States, focusing instead on Latin America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Bad Bunny has once again stirred global conversation — this time by announcing that the United States will not be part of his new DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS World Tour. In an interview with Variety, the chart-topping artist described touring the US as “unnecessary” at this point in his career, reaffirming his commitment to artistic autonomy and cultural connection.
A love letter to Puerto Rico
The tour will launch with a record-breaking 30-night residency in San Juan, Puerto Rico, titled No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí (“I Don’t Want to Leave Here”), starting on 11 July. Bad Bunny revealed that wrapping up his last tour was emotionally challenging because his heart was already set on returning to his homeland — a place he describes as the centre of his creative energy.
No concert film, no apologies
US fans may be disappointed, but Bad Bunny points out that they’ve had plenty of chances to see him live, especially during his 45-date 2024 ‘Most Wanted Tour’. When asked about a potential concert film for this new tour, he dismissed the idea as “unnecessary” too. His manager Noah Assad explained that, while most shows are recorded, they prefer not to release full footage, choosing instead to protect the magic of the live experience. Still, a film hasn’t been completely ruled out for the future.
A statement rooted in identity and independence
Beyond logistics, many see this decision as a deeper message. With his album rooted in Puerto Rican pride and themes of decolonisation, Bad Bunny’s US absence could also be interpreted as a response to current socio-political tensions involving Latino communities. Whatever the motivation, the message is clear: Bad Bunny is doing things on his own terms — and staying true to his roots.
