The most influential K-pop girl group fine-tunes the final details of its new album, marking a new global era.
After more than three years without a studio release, BLACKPINK is officially back. The South Korean quartet is currently putting the finishing touches on its next studio album, scheduled for release in January, ushering in a new musical chapter following the global impact of ‘Born Pink’.
The confirmation came via YG Entertainment, which stated that the project is now in its final stages of production. “The album is in the last phase of production to ensure the highest musical quality,” the agency explained, adding that further updates will be announced through official promotions once everything is ready.
Although the comeback was initially planned for December, industry sources indicate that the release was pushed to January in order to refine both the sound and the visual universe accompanying this new era. A strategic decision that reinforces the meticulous approach with which BLACKPINK builds each of its returns.
In recent weeks, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé were spotted filming a new music video, instantly fuelling excitement across social media. The group’s return as a unit follows a period dominated by solo projects, luxury brand collaborations and a constant presence at major international events.
Currently, BLACKPINK is in the midst of its Deadline World Tour, which kicked off in July in Goyang, South Korea, and has already taken the group to stadiums across North America and Europe. The Asian leg began on 18 October in Taiwan, with additional dates yet to be announced. All signs point to this new album not only marking their musical comeback, but also cementing their status as a truly global phenomenon.
