The model and actress has spoken publicly for the first time about her romantic relationship with Amber Heard, explaining how the situation affected Johnny Depp during the final stages of their marriage.
Cara Delevingne has addressed one of the most talked-about chapters of her personal life for the very first time. During an appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, the model and actress confirmed that she had a romantic relationship with Amber Heard following the actress’s divorce from Johnny Depp, while also sharing her perspective on the rumours that surrounded the three of them for years.
The conversation revisited a story that attracted intense media attention almost a decade ago. In 2016, on the very day Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s divorce settlement became public, Heard was photographed spending an evening in London with Cara Delevingne and Margot Robbie. The images fuelled widespread speculation about the nature of their relationship, something neither woman had publicly confirmed until now.
During the interview, Louis Theroux pointed out that Johnny Depp appeared to be deeply unsettled by the idea that Amber Heard might be involved with Cara Delevingne.
“Yes, it was because we made a film together. It was called London Fields. He was in the film as well. I think he was pretty consumed by jealousy, I suppose. At that point, nothing was happening. Later, after they divorced, it did.” Cara explained.
With those comments, the actress clarified that while filming London Fields in 2013 there was no romantic relationship between them, although she acknowledged that the situation changed after Heard and Depp’s marriage came to an end.
When describing their relationship, Delevingne deliberately avoided using conventional labels, instead referring to it as an “entanglement“, a term often used to describe a relationship that is emotionally complex or difficult to define.
“We were very close for a long time and then, when they were going through the divorce, yes, I suppose we were involved, but she was also involved with other people,” she said.
When asked directly who those “other people” were, Cara confirmed she was referring to Elon Musk, whose name has long been linked to speculation surrounding Amber Heard’s personal life.
The interview reopens a chapter that dominated headlines around the world during the highly publicised separation between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Over the years, numerous rumours emerged about alleged overlapping relationships, with some reports even suggesting a love triangle involving Heard, Delevingne and Musk. However, the billionaire entrepreneur previously denied those claims, rejecting reports that the three were ever involved in a simultaneous relationship.
Cara Delevingne’s comments mark one of the most personal interviews she has given in recent years. Known for keeping her private life largely out of the spotlight, the actress has rarely discussed her past relationships. This time, however, she chose to offer context to speculation that has followed her for nearly a decade.
With these revelations, Delevingne not only confirms for the first time that she and Amber Heard were romantically involved, but also provides a different perspective on one of Hollywood’s most closely scrutinised and controversial relationships.
