“Crafted World” Exhibition: An Interactive Showcase of the Brand’s Craftsmanship, Design, and History
LOEWE‘s flagship exhibition, titled “Crafted World,” has just been unveiled and is set to open at the Shanghai Exhibition Center in the spring of 2024. The exhibition theme revolves around the brand’s heritage, Spanish roots, and craftsmanship. Curated by LOEWE’s Creative Director, Jonathan Anderson, this showcase delves into the brand’s journey from its inception as a leather goods collective in Madrid in 1846 to its current position as a global leader in luxury fashion.

With 178 years of brand history, “Crafted World” traces significant milestones: its role as a supplier to the Spanish Royal Crown, integration into the LVMH family, establishment of the LOEWE Foundation, opening of its first store in China in 2001, and revitalization under Jonathan Anderson’s vision, including the creation of the LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize.

Spanning 1,600 square meters at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, “Crafted World” promises an engaging exploration of time, space, materials, and artisanal methods. Visitors will encounter an interactive space showcasing not only the brand’s artistic collaborations and designs but also offering a broader sensory experience. Emphasizing the importance of intricate handmade craftsmanship, the exhibition will feature a global community of artisans, from Indian ribbon weavers and Ecuadorian tapestry weavers to South African basket weavers and Chinese bamboo artisans, each contributing to the narrative.

Scheduled from March 22 to May 5, 2024, before embarking on a worldwide tour, this exhibition invites the public to closely observe LOEWE’s craft culture, free of charge.
