The post-Covid era has impacted consumers’ lifestyles and the accompanying social moods. According to WGSN, the colors for Spring/Summer 2024 reflect a period of realignment, where consumers will adapt to the rapid changes in society and technology. These predictions have already been seen at international textile fairs like Première Vision and Texworld.
This “twisted path” is characterized by a dark red that foreshadows the “Future Dusk” of 2025. Uncertain and broken shades, ambiguous pigmentation, and twisted colors testify to this change of state. “They evoke disorder and elevate doubt to the category of creative fertilizer,” says Première Vision.
According to WGSN, red is directly related to the care economy. “Radiant red embodies the need to cultivate a more affectionate, caring, and loving culture.”
Different shades of blue – indigo, Klein, denim, electric, sky blue, etc. – explore the need for stability and moderation as consumers seek the right balance between work, leisure, and the influx of digital technology into our daily lives. This quest includes the influence of sports on the lifestyle of Spring/Summer 2024.
The green track, somewhat like the easiest ski runs, refers to our ability to adapt. Of course, we can link this color to the green economy, a green capitalism (eco-conscious products at their source) that would make this world feasible.
WGSN mentions cyber lime, “a powerful quasi-neon capable of stimulating and energizing the body and mind.” It signifies a strong connection between nature and technology. It invites us to give more importance to nature, the source of new innovations in colors and organic materials.
