Jennifer Lawrence speaks candidly about baby Botox, the treatments she avoids and the cosmetic surgery she would like to have on her face.

Jennifer Lawrence has decided to speak openly about her relationship with beauty and cosmetic treatments. At 36, the actress has revealed which procedures are currently part of her routine, which treatments she remains unconvinced by and the procedure she would like to try, although she admits she will probably never go through with it.

During a conversation with Vogue, the Silver Linings Playbook star spoke candidly about ageing and admitted that some beauty routines commonly presented as relaxing experiences are actually particularly boring for her.

“I hate getting my hair coloured. I also hate going to the nail salon,” she said. Lawrence even recalled a social media post that compared getting your nails done to “going to the hand dentist”, a description she appears to completely agree with. “It’s not relaxing. It’s not fun. It’s really, really boring. It takes so long,” she added.

Given the choice, she would prefer to have several treatments done at the same time to save time. There is, however, one procedure she does undergo: baby Botox.

The actress confirmed that she uses small amounts of Botox because she wants to preserve movement and expression in her face. I need to have movement in my face – I get baby Botox, but I can’t do a lot,” she explained. Her priority, she said, is to maintain a natural result and prevent cosmetic treatments from changing her features too dramatically.

If my skin is going to be a little saggier than I would like, at least it looks dewy and pretty,” she said.

Baby Botox follows the same basic principle as conventional Botox but uses smaller amounts of botulinum toxin. Its aim is to soften certain expression lines and wrinkles while preserving more facial movement, allowing for a subtler overall effect.

Lawrence also discussed other cosmetic procedures that have caught her attention, although she is not yet prepared to try them. Among them are fat transfers, a possibility she admits makes her particularly nervous.

For now, her strategy is simply to observe other people’s results. “I support other people doing them because I want to continue to watch and see what happens, but I don’t know about that,” she commented.

There is, however, another procedure she feels much more strongly about: buccal fat removal, also known as cheek reduction.

“I mean, I would love to have a buccal fat removal. I can’t because everybody would know, but just know that I want that,” she confessed with humour.

The surgical procedure involves removing some of the fat located between the cheekbones and jaw. By reducing volume in this area, buccal fat removal can make the cheekbones appear more prominent and create greater definition in the contours of the face. Because of the change it can produce in facial features, the results are generally more noticeable than those achieved through less invasive cosmetic treatments.
