Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu will team up at the 2025 US Open, forming the tournament’s most talked-about duo.

  • The video that has set social media alight confirms the most unexpected (and entertaining) pairing in tennis right now: Raducanu and Alcaraz are joining forces this summer in New York.

The US Open has just confirmed what many thought was merely a rumour: Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu will partner in the revamped mixed doubles event taking place this summer. And to top it all off, a newly released video from the tournament has only fuelled the hype – full of laughs, inside jokes, and a surprising chemistry between two of the sport’s most high-profile players.

“She’ll be the boss,” Alcaraz joked when asked about his partner during the Queen’s tournament. “I’m really excited. I’ve known Emma for a while and we get on really well. It’ll be fun, but we’ll also try to win.”

Raducanu, for her part, seemed more than happy to let Alcaraz take the lead: “I’d let him decide – I’ll just follow his lead,” she laughed when discussing what they’d do if they win the serve toss.

The Spanish-British duo joins a star-studded line-up that includes Novak Djokovic and Olga Danilovic, Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud, Ben Shelton and Taylor Townsend, and Jessica Pegula with Tommy Paul. But no other pairing has stirred up as much media buzz as Alcaraz and Raducanu.

Could this be the most explosive partnership of the 2025 US Open? All signs point to yes.
