Giuseppe Zanotti has repurchased the minority stake in his eponymous brand from investment firm L Catterton, regaining full control and betting on his creative independence.

The Italian designer Giuseppe Zanotti has bought back the minority share of his namesake brand from L Catterton, taking full control of the company. This decision marks a new phase for the luxury label, which will now be able to define its strategy with complete independence.

“I am grateful for the support from L Catterton over the years. This is a return to my roots and a step towards the future,” said Zanotti.

The move comes amid significant activity in the footwear industry. Recently, Caleres acquired Stuart Weitzman for $105 million, and Steve Madden purchased Kurt Geiger for $360 million. Furthermore, there are rumours that Capri Holdings may sell Jimmy Choo, with Prada Group as a potential buyer.

Since its inception, the Zanotti brand has been distinguished by its sophisticated and sensual style, captivating celebrities such as Nicole Kidman and Taylor Swift. In 2024, the brand celebrated its 30th anniversary with a special collection.

With this buyback, Zanotti reaffirms his commitment to creativity and innovation, ensuring that he will continue to lead his brand with the same passion and energy that has characterised his career.
