Halle Berry expresses interest in directing a sequel to ‘Catwoman,’ reviving the character she portrayed 20 years ago.
Twenty years ago, Halle Berry starred in the movie ‘Catwoman,’ a film that, despite expectations, became a box office failure. However, two decades later, Berry has shown interest in reviving the iconic character in a possible sequel.
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Berry reflected on the renewed interest the movie has gained among new generations. “What makes me happy is that kids have found it on the internet, and they love it,” the actress commented. “It’s so gratifying because now they say it’s cool, and I wonder, what was everyone’s problem back then?”
When asked if she would be willing to reprise her role as Catwoman, Berry hinted at the possibility, saying, “Maybe… if I could direct it. Maybe.”
This isn’t the first time the actress has considered the idea of directing a Catwoman sequel. In 2021, while promoting her directorial debut with Bruised, she spoke about the possibility of reimagining the Catwoman narrative, where the character could save the world, following the typical superhero storylines.
