Harry Styles took to the stage once again at the BRIT Awards 2026 with ‘Aperture’, the first preview of his upcoming album, unveiling a more mature and nocturnal artistic phase.

Nearly three years had passed since his last major tour, and the absence was beginning to be felt. Yet Harry Styles’ return to the stage at the BRIT Awards 2026 was not simply a comeback — it was an aesthetic statement.

The artist appeared — despite not being nominated — to perform ‘Aperture’, the lead single from his forthcoming album ‘Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally’. The performance left no doubt about the creative direction of this chapter: the bright glow of ‘Harry’s House’ has been left behind.

His previous tour, Love on Tour, ran for 22 months between 2021 and 2023, with 169 shows across five continents. A period of relative silence followed. He did not disappear from public view — there were appearances, travels, even his relationship with Zoë Kravitz — but he stepped away from live music. The new album marks his definitive return.

The aesthetic has shifted as well. While his previous era embraced feathers, sequins and luminous pop theatricality, this new phase moves through nocturnal codes. The visual imagery suggests it clearly: less daytime fantasy, more underground club.

For the performance, he chose a black-and-white bouclé pinstripe jacket and trousers from Chanel’s Métiers d’art 2026 collection, paired with a mint green cotton shirt. Midway through the number, he removed the jacket, performing alongside dancers dressed in black T-shirts, blue jeans and dark sunglasses, creating a contrast between formality and freedom.

The choreography leaned into collectivity: synchronised arm and hand movements inspired by the song’s music video, while the addition of a choir in the pre-chorus introduced an almost anthemic dimension. It was not an explosive performance, but an atmospheric one.

The artistic message was unmistakable. This Harry Styles is no longer the youthful frontman of One Direction, nor the cultural figure caught in the media turbulence of the ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ era. He emerges more grounded, comfortable exploring deeper vocal registers without losing the optimism that has always defined his music.
