Jacob Elordi takes on the iconic role of Frankenstein in the upcoming Netflix adaptation directed by Guillermo Del Toro.
After the success of Saltburn and Priscilla, Jacob Elordi has another major project in the works. Currently one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors, Elordi has landed the role of Frankenstein in the upcoming Netflix adaptation directed by Guillermo del Toro.
Elordi comes to life to portray the titular monster, stepping into the role after Andrew Garfield exited the project due to scheduling conflicts related to strikes. Del Toro’s adaptation of the classic monster tale will also feature Oscar Isaac as the scientist Victor Frankenstein, alongside Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz. Other cast members include Lars Mikkelsen, Felix Kammerer, David Bradley, and Christian Convery.
The Oscar-winning filmmaker is expected to write, direct, and produce the film, based on Mary Shelley’s novel about the brilliant yet egocentric scientist Victor Frankenstein. The scientist famously brings a giant creature to life in a monstrous experiment. Elordi rose to fame initially through Netflix’s Kissing Booth, which he has described as “ridiculous.” Starting his career with Netflix, he garnered attention in HBO’s series Euphoria and later starred as Elvis in Priscilla and alongside Barry Keoghan in Saltburn more recently. Frankenstein continues Del Toro’s collaboration with Netflix following his Oscar-winning Pinocchio. Stay tuned for what’s to come with Frankenstein.
