Justin Bieber delivered one of the most talked-about returns at Coachella, headlining with a performance that leaned into nostalgia and a far more intimate approach than typically seen at the festival.
The singer opened his set with more recent material, but quickly shifted towards the hits that defined the early stages of his career, including tracks like ‘Baby’ and ‘Never Say Never’. As part of the show’s concept, Bieber projected archival footage from his early days on YouTube, including homemade videos from his teenage years that directly connected the audience to the origins of his journey.
The performance marked his first major live appearance in four years, following the cancellation of his Justice Tour due to health issues related to Ramsay Hunt syndrome. In this context, the tone of the concert felt more restrained: a minimalist stage design, reduced visual spectacle and a constant interaction with the audience, whom he repeatedly asked how long they had been following his music.
