Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky welcomed their daughter Rose Bean in June 2026, fulfilling the singer’s previously shared hopes of becoming a mother.
Lady Gaga has begun one of the most personal chapters of her life. After news that she had become a mother surprised fans, new details have now emerged about the arrival of her first child with Michael Polansky, including her date of birth and reports that the couple used a surrogate.
According to TMZ, the 40-year-old singer and her partner welcomed a daughter named Rose Bean Polansky, who was born on 9 June 2026 in Los Angeles. The outlet also reports that the baby was born via surrogacy, which would explain why Gaga continued making public appearances in the months leading up to her daughter’s arrival without showing signs of pregnancy.
The star maintained a particularly busy professional schedule throughout the spring. On 15 May, she appeared on the red carpet for the premiere of her concert film ‘MAYHEM Requiem’. Just a few weeks earlier, on 20 April, she had attended the world premiere of ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, in which she makes a cameo appearance.
Although Rose Bean Polansky’s arrival was kept away from public attention during her first months, Gaga’s desire to become a mother was no secret. In October 2025, during an interview on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, she spoke openly about her plans for the future and placed motherhood above her numerous professional projects.
“I would like to do many things. All of those possibilities are open. But what I really want is to be a mother. That’s my next starring role, I hope,” she said at the time.
Those words now take on a different meaning. Less than a year after that interview, Lady Gaga became a mother, beginning a new chapter while continuing a career that spans music, film and fashion.
Over the years, the singer has also spoken publicly about certain aspects of her health. In her 2017 documentary ‘Five Foot Two’, Gaga revealed that she had fibromyalgia and explained how chronic pain had affected different periods of her life and professional career.
During a conversation with Oprah Winfrey in 2020, Gaga described experiencing pain “from head to toe”. In 2025, however, she said that the condition was under control, while acknowledging that she still experienced occasional days of pain. There has been no public confirmation that her health was the reason the couple reportedly chose surrogacy.
Motherhood also arrives at an especially active point in the star’s career. Lady Gaga continues to expand her presence across music and film while keeping much of her private life away from the spotlight.
Her relationship with Michael Polansky has similarly been characterised by a more controlled level of public exposure than some earlier periods of the singer’s personal life. Now, with the arrival of Rose Bean, the couple appear to be maintaining that same approach as they begin their new life as parents.
