Lisa, the famous member of BLACKPINK, came under fire for her performance at the Global Citizen Festival, a charity event held in Central Park, New York, on September 29. Although she was billed as one of the headliners alongside renowned artists like Post Malone and Doja Cat, her performance was deemed lackluster and disappointing.
During the festival, Lisa delivered her first solo performance, singing tracks like ‘ROCKSTAR,’ ‘NEW WOMAN,’ ‘Lalisa,’ and ‘Money.’ Additionally, she debuted her unreleased digital single ‘Moonlit Floor,’ which will be released on October 4 and features a sample of ‘Kiss Me’ by Sixpence None the Richer. Despite the spectacle of the production and visuals, Lisa’s vocal performance failed to excite the audience, as she relied heavily on pre-recorded tracks, singing only parts of the songs.
K-pop fans who watched the video expressed their frustration online, questioning why she lip-synced if there was no choreography and criticizing the lack of energy in her performance. Despite this backlash, Lisa recently stood out by winning the Best K-pop award at the MTV Video Music Awards for ‘ROCKSTAR’ and is set to make her acting debut in the third season of HBO’s “The White Lotus.”
