Lox Pratt joins HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ as Draco Malfoy, leading a wave of fresh casting for iconic wizarding roles.
HBO’s much-anticipated ‘Harry Potter’ series continues to take shape as Lox Pratt is officially cast as young Draco Malfoy, a role made iconic by Tom Felton in the original films. Joining him is Johnny Flynn, set to portray Lucius Malfoy, in a reimagined take on the infamous pure-blood family.
Also stepping into major roles are Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby as Petunia and Vernon Dursley, while Katherine Parkinson has been confirmed as Molly Weasley, the warm-hearted matriarch of the beloved wizarding family. New Hogwarts students include Leo Earley (Seamus Finnigan), Alessia Leoni (Parvati Patil), and Sienna Moosah (Lavender Brown).
They join a star-studded cast that already features John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. The central trio — Dominic McLaughlin (Harry), Alastair Stout (Ron), and Arabella Stanton (Hermione) — are all newcomers.
Described as a faithful adaptation of the original novels, the series is executive produced by J.K. Rowling, Francesca Gardiner, and David Heyman, and is expected to unfold over the next decade.
