Marc Jacobs celebrates its 40th anniversary with ‘The Essentials’ campaign, highlighting iconic bags and models against a vibrant New York backdrop.
Marc Jacobs, the iconic fashion designer, has launched an exciting campaign titled ‘The Essentials of Marc Jacobs’ in celebration of its 40th anniversary. The campaign features prominent models such as Adriana Lima, Lourdes Leon, Joan Smalls and Colin Jones, who sport some of the brand’s most iconic bags, including ‘The Tote Bag’, ‘The Sack Bag’, ‘The Snapshot Bag’ and ‘The Mini Bag’.
Styled by Jermaine Daley and directed by BRTHR’s Alex Lee and Kyle Wightman, the campaign is set against a vibrant New York backdrop, capturing the essence of Jacobs’ urban style. The lifestyle images were photographed by Valentin Herfray, while the still images were shot by Clinton Hild.

One of the highlights of the campaign is ‘The Tote Bag’, launched in 2019, which has gained popularity and recognition, even being honored at the Accessories Council’s Design Excellence Awards. To commemorate its anniversary, Jacobs has also revived its collaboration with Stephen Sprouse, presenting a graffitied version of his famous bag.
‘The Essentials’ campaign will launch in chapters, beginning this Tuesday and continuing through next year, offering an exciting look at the brand’s evolution over the decades.
