The Little Mermaid film not only brings back a Disney classic, but also introduces one of the trends we will see the most this summer, Mermaidcore.
This trend is essentially about wearing blue colors (ranging from dark blues to aquamarine and greens), purples, silvers, and iridescent tones. In addition, wearing accessories shaped like seashells, conches, or stars is key.

The use of mesh fabric (a trend we saw last year) will be one of the most important aspects of this trend, whether in tops, dresses, or skirts. It will be dominating the fashion scene.
Mermaidcore has also made its presence felt on the runways, with brands like David Koma incorporating starfish-shaped jewelry, Bluemarine featuring the famous mermaid cut, Balmain showcasing a dress imitating the iridescent scales of fish, and Christian Dior presenting netted dresses.
