Miley Cyrus has opened up about how she disguised her drug expenses as vintage clothing purchases to keep them hidden from her accountant.
The 32-year-old singer shared this surprising detail during an episode of The Ringer’s podcast Every Single Album, where she reflected on her artistic and emotional journey through her albums, focusing on her experimental 2015 release Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz.
“Drugs were the biggest expense, and to hide it from my accountant, we called it vintage clothing,” Cyrus explained. “Every time she saw me, she’d ask, ‘Where’s that original John Lennon T-shirt you bought for $15,000?’ And I’d say, ‘It’s upstairs. It’s very delicate, so it needs to be taken care of.’”

Despite her past, Miley acknowledges how much she has changed: “I’m very happy to have survived that phase. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go as far as I did.”
Today, Cyrus embraces a sober lifestyle, while recognising that staying clean requires constant effort.
