The platform is gearing up for the final premiere of Stranger Things with a video retracing its journey since 2016.
Netflix has unveiled Stranger Things 5: Legacy, a special video revisiting the first four seasons of the acclaimed series created by the Duffer brothers. Through iconic footage, cast reflections and key plot moments, this featurette aims to reconnect emotionally with audiences before the grand finale, which will be released in three parts between November 2025 and January 2026.
The platform has confirmed a staggered release: Volume 1 lands on 27 November with four episodes; Volume 2, comprising three chapters, arrives on 26 December; and the climactic ending is set for 1 January 2026, marking the definitive close of a story that has transformed television since its debut in 2016.
Alongside the retrospective video, Netflix has launched a global rewatch campaign starting on 29 September, with exclusive content across the official Stranger Things social media channels and on Tudum. These programmes will allow fans to relive essential storylines, character arcs and defining moments, offering a chance to prepare for the final battle.
Season 5 begins in the autumn of 1987, with Hawkins plunged into chaos following the opening of the Rifts. Vecna has vanished, while the government imposes a military quarantine and intensifies its pursuit of Eleven, who goes back into hiding. Against this backdrop of tension, the group faces an enemy darker than ever, with the shadow of their first great trauma — Will’s disappearance — weighing heavily over them all.
With this blend of nostalgia, narrative strategy and restrained emotion, Netflix ensures that the farewell to Stranger Things will live up to its legacy. One last mission. One last campaign. One final adventure. The ultimate ending to an era.
