NewJeans made a standout entrance at the Lollapalooza music festival on Friday in Chicago, giving a daring twist to delicate Y2K-inspired attire.

For their first performance at the music festival, the girl group composed of Minji, Danielle, Hyein, Haerin, and Hann donned monochromatic pleated miniskirts with exposed hem details, tall white socks, and Timberland boots.

Each member added enhancements to their look, with Haerin wearing an Odlyworkshop Nimbo crossover tee and Danielle adopting a touch of streetwear style with a hooded bolero and Bonnae horn details.

In terms of accessories, all group members wore a sparkling CFierce rabbit necklace, featuring rhodium-plated brass and pink cubic zirconia. The rabbit is the group’s distinctive symbol.

NewJeans‘ performance marked the first time a K-pop girl group took the stage at the festival. There was even a pop-up experience called “Bunnyland” in collaboration with NewJeans and Spotify. The space featured arcade games, photo opportunities, and playlist stations.

NewJeans burst onto the scene last year in July with their successful single “Attention”. Since then, the group has caused a stir in the music and fashion industries. They have collaborated with brands ranging from Levi’s to high-fashion houses like Gucci. The latest ambassador news was revealed in February, when Hanni was chosen as the global makeup ambassador for Armani Beauty.

“Hanni is a very young artist with great expressive power and irresistible, captivating individuality, a contrast that I find interesting,” Giorgio Armani said in a statement in February. “She has personality, which, for me, is the most fascinating trait, always.”

The Lollapalooza music festival extends until Sunday at the historic Grant Park in downtown Chicago. This year’s lineup includes Billie Eilish, Diplo, Lana Del Rey, and more.
