During the “Efficient Denim Processes” event organized by Casa Berelsonas in Buenos Aires, designer and jeanswear specialist Alejandro Ogando gave a presentation on the prominent denim trends for the summer seasons of 2023 and 2024.
In a presentation led by Alicia Mendive, a product development specialist, Ogando shared the latest developments in the fashion category with a group of textile professionals and specialized media.

Ogando outlined three major macro-trends in his presentation: Protect and Connect, Sensory Landscapes, and Creative Confidence. These trends focus on products that provide well-being, comfort, security, minimalist designs, psychedelic prints, recycling, and creative expressiveness.

The Protect and Connect macro-trend focuses on responsible and durable designs, featuring a warm color palette and comforting textures. Materials like denim are used, aiming to create a sense of unity and support through workwear-inspired clothing.
The Sensory Landscapes trend combines the physical and virtual worlds through digital landscapes. Tropical and psychedelic prints stand out, digitally recreating nature and incorporating textures inspired by natural landscapes, drawing inspiration from water and the universe.
Lastly, the Creative Confidence macro-trend emphasizes expressiveness, deconstruction, and surrealism through digital prints and appliques. DIY (do-it-yourself) and patchwork techniques using recycled materials are promoted, redefining basics and blending tailored garments with traditional denim elements.

The event, organized by Casa Berelsonas, focused on the denim sector and allowed attendees to learn about upcoming trends and observe different manufacturing processes led by Alicia Mendive. There was also a presentation on new technologies in washing processes by Maximiliano Jeannot, CEO of Procesadora Centro.
