Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain behind bars after a judge once again denied him bail, citing flight risk and public safety concerns.

Federal Judge Arun Subramanian has rejected, for the fifth time, a request for bail filed by Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ legal team. The music mogul has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn since September 2024. The latest ruling, issued on 4 August, states that Combs poses a “flight risk or danger to the community,” according to official court documents.

The 55-year-old was convicted on 2 July of the federal offence of transportation for the purpose of prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges related to human trafficking and conspiracy under organised crime statutes. His defence team had requested bail set at $50 million, citing his medical condition and age, but the motion was denied.

Virginia “Gina” Huynh, the artist’s ex-girlfriend and one of the victims named in the case, publicly pleaded for his release. Nevertheless, the court ruled that there are no exceptional circumstances warranting his release. Diddy is scheduled to be sentenced on 3 October and faces up to 20 years in prison.
