Director Paul Feig says Blake Lively is “great” as the key date for her trial with Justin Baldoni approaches.
Amid growing media attention surrounding her legal situation, Blake Lively has received public support from one of her closest collaborators. Director Paul Feig, known for working with the actress on ‘A Simple Favor’ and its sequel ‘Another Simple Favor’, shared an update on her current state while attending the red carpet at the 2026 Oscars.
When asked by the press, Feig was clear and direct in his remarks. “Blake is great. She’s great.” he stated, highlighting her strength during a complex moment. According to him, the actress remains focused on her personal and family life, maintaining a positive outlook despite the circumstances. “She’s just… soldiering on.” he added, underlining her resilience.
The director also emphasised Blake Lively’s role as a mother, describing it as the central pillar of her life. In his words, the actress continues to be “wonderful” in her day-to-day life, prioritising her family above everything else. He also pointed to the stability of her relationship with Ryan Reynolds, noting that they share a happy marriage and that their children are doing well.

He also dismissed rumours regarding creative control on ‘Another Simple Favor’, clarifying that the final cut was entirely his and praising Lively’s professionalism throughout the process. “Nothing but supporting and a dream to work with,” he said at the time.
