The actor will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in the sequel to ‘The Batman’ by Matt Reeves, but he will not be part of the main DC Universe.
Unlike Marvel, the DC Universe not only connects its films within a shared timeline but also develops independent projects set in alternate worlds. While James Gunn’s upcoming ‘Superman’ will exist within the same universe as ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow‘ and HBO’s ‘Lanterns‘ series, sagas like ‘Joker’ and ‘The Batman‘ will continue separately, outside of the studio’s main narrative.
With this in mind, James Gunn and Peter Safran have made it clear what the future holds for Robert Pattinson in DC. The actor made his debut as Bruce Wayne in ‘The Batman‘ (2022), and its highly anticipated sequel, ‘The Batman II’, is already in development with Matt Reeves returning as director and writer.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. is working on another Dark Knight film: ‘The Brave and the Bold‘, directed by Andy Muschietti, which will be part of the DC Universe and will require a different actor to portray Batman, one who will share the screen with David Corenswet’s Superman.
In response to speculation about whether Pattinson could take on that role, Gunn and Safran have been clear: It won’t happen. “It’s not in our plans,“ Gunn stated in an interview where he provided updates on the studio’s projects. “We love him, but we need to introduce Batman into the DC Universe. It’s essential, and that’s the goal with The Brave and the Bold.”
