Fausto Puglisi has designed the exclusive Wild Leda Summer capsule collection for the Cavalli maison, which was presented in Florence at Pitti Uomo.

The Wild Leda Summer collection revolves around a bucolic scene inspired by Leda and the Swan, paying homage to the Florentine Renaissance. It includes ready-to-wear, beachwear, eyewear, homewear, and accessories, featuring seasonal It products such as the Roar Bag and Pettegole slingbacks.

“I wanted to play with a Warhol-style approach, which is the almost obsessive repetition of a concept. I started with a hand-painted pair of jeans by Roberto (Cavalli) in 1994: I immediately loved the contrast between the mythological element of Leda and such an American and sporty item like jeans,” comments the creative director.

“Wild Leda Summer is all about the slip dress, the dress that, along with the robe, represents for me an emblem of femininity and freedom, very Cavalli,” he adds.

During the collection presentation, Sergio Azzolari, the new CEO of the house, spoke about the brand’s new approach, aiming to create “a philosophy that breaks with rituals, with the liturgy of fashion through capsules or special projects with different timelines and logics, proposals capable of conveying its soul.” He also mentioned many other novelties prepared for 2023.

“We will undoubtedly continue to focus on made-to-measure tailoring, which is increasingly in demand and brings us great satisfaction. But that’s not all: Cavalli’s relationship with music has been and continues to be special, with stars like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift wearing exclusive garments created for them by Fausto on stage, demonstrating the vitality and global success of Cavalli haute couture. In 2023, we will also launch an iconic Roberto Cavalli sneaker, available in both men’s and women’s versions: a product that completes our collection, a unique, identifiable, unforgettable, and recognizable shoe that will hit the market by the end of the year,” explains Azzolari.
