Sky has released a sneak peek of the second season of The Last of Us, continuing the story of Joel and Ellie.
In celebration of ‘The Last of Us Day,’ Sky revealed the first teaser for the second season of the hit series, along with an exclusive piece of artwork created by Greg Ruth. September 26, known as “Outbreak Day” in the show’s universe, marks the beginning of the fictional Cordyceps virus outbreak that set the events of the acclaimed franchise in motion.
The second season will pick up the story of Joel and Ellie five years after the events of the first installment. Although they have found some semblance of peace, ghosts from the past threaten to drag them back into a world even more dangerous and chaotic than before. With Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey reprising their leading roles, the season will also introduce new cast members such as Kaitlyn Dever as Abby and Isabela Merced as Dina.
The project remains under the direction of Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, continuing to focus on the deep and emotional storytelling that defined the first season. The second season is expected to premiere in 2025 on Sky and the streaming service NOW, with high anticipation from fans eagerly awaiting this next chapter.
