Sydney Sweeney steps forward to deny ongoing plastic surgery rumours and reflects on the digital pressure that distorts how we perceive the body.

At 28, the actress has chosen to address head-on the persistent social media comments claiming she has undergone cosmetic procedures. In a recent video interview for Allure, joined by her co-star Amanda Seyfried, Sweeney was unequivocal in shutting down any speculation.

When asked which beauty rumour she would like to clarify publicly, Sydney Sweeney didn’t hesitate: “Let’s dismantle them all. I’ve never had any work done. I’m terrified of needles — you have no idea how much.”

The actress stressed that many comparisons circulating on digital platforms make no sense whatsoever: “You can’t compare a photo of me at 12 with one at 26, with professional make-up and studio lighting. Of course I’m going to look different.” She added candidly: “Sometimes people on social media are completely out of touch with reality.”

For her part, Amanda Seyfried joked during the conversation that if Sweeney ever needed a treatment, she’d happily assist — though she made it clear she doesn’t think she needs anything at all right now.

In a more personal tone, Sweeney also addressed a small physical detail that often raises questions: after a wakeboarding accident in her teenage years, she received 19 stitches on her forehead, which caused slight asymmetry in her eyelids. “One of my eyes opens a little more than the other,” she explained. “And if I had had any work done… my face would probably be perfectly symmetrical.”

An honest reflection that once again highlights the impact of social media on self-image and the public perception of real bodies — even for public figures under constant scrutiny.
