By selling two million units in her first four months, singer SZA breaks the record held by rapper Mary J. Blige for 17 years.
SZA’s second studio album, ‘SOS’, has been officially certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America ( RIAA ). The album released in December 2022 has managed to sell two million copies in the United States in just four months. This prized title was officially awarded two months after winning the platinum plaque. In addition, the singer of ‘ Good Days ‘ has received 12 additional certificates, including five platinum and seven gold.
The double platinum title was unveiled just days before Billboard reported a major milestone for the artist. SZA has broken the record that rapper Mary J. Blige set 17 years ago with her song ‘ Be Without You ‘ from 2006. The theme ‘ Kill Bill ‘ has become the song that has spent the most weeks at number 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart by a female artist with 16 weeks.
Meanwhile, the artist continues to tour and it is known that SZA could extend the ‘SOS tour‘ for a few more dates.
