The Olympic skateboarding champion joins G-SHOCK as Global Ambassador, strengthening the link between urban culture, innovation and uncompromising toughness
Casio America, Inc. has officially announced Yuto Horigome as the new Global Ambassador for G-SHOCK, consolidating a partnership that connects the world of competitive skateboarding with the philosophy of absolute resilience that has defined the brand for more than four decades. The Japanese skater, who first stepped on a board at the age of six, has become one of the most influential figures on the international circuit, recognised for both his technical precision and cultural impact.
The collaboration is built on shared values: discipline, innovation and a constant drive to push limits. Since its launch in 1983, G-SHOCK has shaped its identity around the concept of Absolute Toughness, engineering watches designed to withstand extreme conditions through continuous technical advancement. That experimental spirit mirrors the evolution of skateboarding, now a global sporting and cultural phenomenon.
“I’m excited to partner with G-SHOCK and continue taking on new challenges in my own way,” Horigome said. The campaign features creative collaborations with artist VERDY and a short film produced by THIRTY 3 MAGAZINE, exploring the intersection of durability, street aesthetics and global youth culture.
Highlighted models include the GMW-B5000D-1, a full-metal reinterpretation of the iconic 5000 series with advanced technology, and the DW-5000R, a contemporary update of the original G-SHOCK. The partnership further reinforces the brand’s longstanding connection to urban culture and international youth movements.
