Zendaya and Robert Pattinson unravel romance, betrayal and chaos in ‘The Drama’, the boldest A24 title of the year.
The countdown to the wedding of the year has just taken a sharp turn. In the newly released trailer for ‘The Drama’, the latest A24 provocation starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, things fall apart faster than vows can be written.
Set against the picturesque calm of New England, the story follows a seemingly solid couple during the week leading up to their wedding — until one question at dinner, one secret from the past, and one slap during sex begin to change everything. “What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done before meeting?” asks Alana Haim’s character at the table. The answers unleash a tidal wave.
Directed by Celine Song, the film marks a tonal shift from her previous work, leaning into psychological tension, dark humour, and erotic discomfort. In one now-viral scene, Zendaya’s character snaps at Pattinson mid-intimacy, a moment that’s already dividing timelines: is it passion, power, or punishment?
Mamoudou Athie and Haim round out the supporting cast with wit and dread in equal measure, creating a dinner party atmosphere that’s part Get Out, part Scenes from a Marriage, all wrapped in A24’s signature aesthetic.
The teaser hinted at fractures. This new trailer rips the seams apart. Flashbacks suggest Zendaya’s character may have done something unforgivable — and whether the groom-to-be knows the full story remains the central tension.
Slated to premiere in cinemas on 3 April 2026, ‘The Drama’ promises to be more than a relationship film. It’s a study of guilt, image, and the ever-blurred line between love and damage.
Zendaya, once again, proves she’s not afraid to bleed on screen. Pattinson, for his part, continues his post-Twilight streak of complex, tortured roles. If this is what the wedding looks like, we can’t imagine the honeymoon.
Stay tuned — this one’s going to break group chats and box offices alike.
