Stéphane Rolland breaks traditions in haute couture by organising a charitable fashion show to support at-risk teenagers.
Designer Stéphane Rolland defies the conventions of haute couture by hosting a spring 2025 show for charitable purposes, with tickets open to the public for the first time. In collaboration with the Fondation des Hôpitaux, Rolland aims to raise funds to support at-risk teenagers receiving treatment for mental health issues, such as eating disorders.
Since September, Rolland and his partner Pierre Martinez have been running creative workshops for a group of girls aged 13 to 18. The participants have explored the world of fashion through museum visits, workshops at the Paris Opera, and hands-on sessions with students from the ESMOD fashion school. Additionally, two of the girls will be undertaking internships at Rolland’s atelier, opening doors to a potential career in design.

Inspired by activist Josephine Baker, the collection seeks to reflect humanitarian values and raise awareness of social causes. During the show, attendees will be able to contribute donations via physical donation boxes and QR codes.
“It’s a step towards humanising fashion and showing that it can be a vehicle for positive change,” stated Rolland. The designer hopes that other haute couture houses will follow his example in future seasons.
