Xmag reveals an exclusive first look at ‘Kill Trip’, Kristian McKay’s sultry and suspenseful horror shot deep in Texas.
Xmag brings you an exclusive first look at the seductive and sinister visuals from Kristian McKay’s freshly wrapped horror-thriller, Kill Trip. Filmed on location in Bastrop, Texas, the film promises to blur the line between Americana and psychological terror—with a cast as intriguing as the premise.
The upcoming feature, helmed by Kristian McKay (Ventaja) and produced by Kristian McKay and Daunesh Alcott for Obscura Films, stars Samaire Armstrong (Just My Luck), Corin Nemec (Place Of Bones), Stelio Savante (Infidel), Todd Jenkins (The Channel), and Brittany McVicker (Break). They’re joined by breakout talents Tate Christensen, Diletta Guglielmi, Violeta Ortega, Maya Hendricks, Chase Breithoff, and Brian Latimer.
According to the official synopsis:
“On their way to a Texas music festival, a group of friends break down in the middle of nowhere. Stranded, they accept a ride from a soft-spoken van driver and arrive in a dusty, trippy town that time forgot. But when night falls and friends begin to disappear, the line between hospitality and horror fades fast—and it becomes terrifyingly clear: not everyone is making it to Austin.”

Kill Trip marks McKay’s first American feature, following his acclaimed directorial debut Ventaja, which earned the Golden Palm Award at the Mexico International Film Festival and the Audience Award at NewFilmmakers LA in 2018. That film also enjoyed an eight-week theatrical run in South America and was Ecuador’s Oscar submission in the Best Foreign Film category.
