Lindsay Lohan brings back her most iconic characters with nostalgic looks and self-referential styling during the Freakier Friday press tour.
Lindsay Lohan doesn’t need to seek style inspiration—she is her own. While promoting her new film ‘Freakier Friday‘, the actress has embraced a clever method dressing approach, revisiting some of her most memorable early-2000s looks with a mix of nostalgia, wit, and intent.
Guided by star stylist Andrew Mukamal, Lohan appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in a leather mini skirt, bold belt, and a T-shirt with the slogan “Pink Slip”—the name of the fictional band led by her character Anna Coleman in ‘Freaky Friday‘ (2003). This wasn’t just a quirky throwback: a new version of “Take Me Away”, the film’s signature anthem, is set to accompany the sequel’s release.

But the homage didn’t stop there. During her early morning media appearances, Lohan wore a yellow tweed Balmain set that instantly evoked Cher Horowitz from ‘Clueless‘—though it was later confirmed as a nod to her own character Annie James in ‘The Parent Trap‘. Moments later, she switched into a multicoloured Roberto Cavalli look inspired by Hallie Parker, Annie’s twin sister from the same film.
The visual crescendo came at the New York premiere of Freakier Friday, where she wore a voluminous white Jacquemus dress reminiscent of Carrie Bradshaw’s tutu in the ‘Sex and the City‘ opening credits. Because if you’re in New York, why not dress like an icon?
With this curated collection of references, Lohan isn’t just paying tribute to her career—she’s turning every appearance into a love letter to 2000s fashion. Her message is clear: she’s not reviving the past, she’s reinterpreting it in real time.
