The It Ends With Us actor brings in Alexandra Shapiro, former lawyer of Diddy, in his ongoing legal battle with Blake Lively.
Justin Baldoni has added a key figure to his legal defence team amid the high-profile court battle he has been engaged in for nearly a year with Blake Lively over the film It Ends With Us. The new addition is Alexandra A.E. Shapiro, a renowned attorney who recently represented Sean “Diddy” Combs in his sex trafficking trial.
According to People, Shapiro filed a notice of appearance last week, formally joining the legal team alongside Bryan Freedman and other existing members representing Baldoni.
Shapiro’s career is notable: she began as one of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s first clerks at the US Supreme Court and now leads her own firm in New York. Throughout her career she has been involved in several high-profile cases, cementing her reputation as one of the most respected figures in the American legal field.
This move comes at a pivotal stage in the process. Just a few days ago, a judge ruled that Taylor Swift will not be required to testify in the case, excluding her statement from the proceedings. Earlier this month, Blake Lively also filed a motion demanding that Baldoni pay millions of dollars in damages relating to the legal dispute.
The case, which has dominated headlines due to its complexity and the names involved, continues to unfold under public scrutiny, with the coming weeks expected to be decisive for the future of the film project.
