Paris Haute Couture Week has officially begun with one of the most eagerly anticipated shows on the international fashion calendar. Schiaparelli once again took centre stage with the unveiling of The Abyss, its Autumn/Winter 2026–2027 Haute Couture collection, designed by Daniel Roseberry, reaffirming the remarkable creative momentum of the historic French maison.

The presentation took place at Paris’ Petit Palais, one of the city’s most iconic architectural landmarks. Its grand setting provided the perfect backdrop for The Abyss, a collection whose title immediately suggested a vision rich in symbolism, theatricality and artistic references.

Even before the show began, however, all eyes were on the museum’s staircase, which became an elegant red carpet welcoming some of the biggest names in fashion, entertainment and music. The Italian entrepreneur and digital fashion icon chose one of Schiaparelli’s signature visual codes: a trompe-l’œil body-print dress, a technique that creates the optical illusion of human anatomy through hyper-realistic printing. She completed the look with oversized gold earrings, perfectly reflecting the maison’s sculptural and surreal aesthetic.

Another of the day’s most memorable appearances came from Emma Corrin, who arrived wearing an extraordinary bird-inspired sculptural jacket from one of Schiaparelli’s previous haute couture collections. Crafted with thousands of hand-painted feathers and intricate three-dimensional details created by the maison’s artisans, the piece once again showcased the exceptional level of craftsmanship that defines the house.

Michelle Yeoh also surprised guests with a dramatic new look. The Oscar-winning actress debuted an elegant ash-blonde bob hairstyle, paired with a sophisticated black Bardot-neckline dress adorned with feathers, reinforcing her long-standing relationship with the world of haute couture.

Beyond the celebrity guest list, the true star of the event remained Daniel Roseberry, widely regarded as the designer behind one of luxury fashion’s most remarkable modern revivals. His creative direction has transformed Schiaparelli into a house that continues to surprise season after season through an unmistakable combination of imagination, artisanal excellence and contemporary sophistication.
