Tate McRae leads the adidas Originals Sport campaign, a new women’s training collection designed to unite personal style and athletic performance.

adidas Originals Sport arrives with Tate McRae as the face of a new chapter in women’s training wear. The collection, created for women who want their workout clothing to reflect both performance and identity, brings together the visual codes of adidas Originals with technical materials designed for movement, comfort and support. Alongside McRae, the campaign features music artist Emilia Mernes and professional volleyball player Harper Murray, expanding the project across music, sport and contemporary culture.

The launch marks a clear statement from adidas: training clothes no longer need to look like a fixed uniform. Instead, Originals Sport is built around the idea that women should be able to dress for exercise in a way that feels personal, expressive and functional at the same time. The collection recognises that the gym is no longer separate from daily style, but part of a broader wardrobe where identity, confidence and performance meet.

Lisann Costello, Vice President of Product Design Partnerships and Sports Marketing at adidas, explains that serious training was once associated with an expected look. That idea has shifted. Women now define performance through their own preferences and want clothing that says something about who they are while still supporting the way they move. adidas Originals Sport responds to that change with a wardrobe designed to work inside and outside the training space.

The collection draws inspiration from one of the brand’s most recognisable references: the Superstar tracksuit. Rather than simply revisiting it as nostalgia, adidas adapts its familiar design language for contemporary workouts. The result is a training line where Trefoil branding, feminine cut lines, expressive proportions and an unexpected colour palette create a stronger sense of individuality.

At the same time, performance remains central. adidas has developed the collection with technical materials created to support different types of exercise. The pieces are designed to provide comfort, ventilation, flexibility and freedom of movement, allowing each look to function beyond aesthetics. The range includes bras, leggings, tops, lightweight layers and a one-piece option, giving women several ways to build gym outfits that feel specific to them.

The bra selection offers both low and medium support, allowing the wearer to choose according to intensity and preference. AdiSOFT is used for breathable comfort, while LYCRA ADAPTIV provides flexibility and adapts to movement. The leggings arrive in seven-eighth and full-length versions, both using LYCRA ADAPTIV to allow unrestricted motion throughout a workout.

The Superstar Bra Tee and Originals Sport Tank Padded introduce CLIMACOOL technology, designed to support ventilation and cooling during training. These pieces reflect the collection’s central balance: recognisable adidas Originals style with the practical demands of active performance. The result is clothing that looks considered but still works through effort, heat and movement.

Layering also plays an important role. The Superstar Midlayer and Originals Sport Coverup offer lightweight options that can be worn before, during or after a workout. They give the collection a more complete wardrobe structure, allowing pieces to move between training sessions, everyday plans and transitional moments without losing coherence. A onesie completes the range, offering a more expressive all-in-one option for women who want to experiment with layering and silhouette.
