A Spice Girls reunion might be happening sooner than we think.

It has been 11 years since the five Spice Girls last graced the stage together at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, before four members (excluding Victoria Beckham, who focused on her fashion brand) embarked on a successful Spice World world tour in 2019. Now, in news we’ve all been waiting to hear, there might be a reunion of all the original band members on the horizon. Yes, that includes Posh Spice.

Emma Bunton, also known as Baby Spice, appeared on ITV’s “This Morning” show on June 13th and hinted that the girl group has been in talks about another tour. “It’s something that we always talk about. When I’m out with my friends, when I’m with Jade [Jones], the kids ask me too,” she said. “It’s something that we, as the Spice Girls, talk about a lot, but you know, now that we have children, it’s just about finding the right timing, but it would be lovely to do it.” We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but that sounds more like a “when” than an “if.”

Bunton’s revelations have certainly fueled the rumors, as Mel B had recently spoken about a Spice Girls reunion to The Sun on May 25th, where she claimed that Beckham was on board for a reunion project. She told the publication, “My theory is if I say it enough, it will happen. But we are planning something, seriously.”

Although it’s still unclear what the upcoming project will entail, Mel B has hinted that it will be something big. “Whatever it is, I can’t say right now because we’re still figuring it out, all five of us,” she said. “But it’s going to be something that the fans will really love.”

Bunton may have even dropped some hints on Instagram on May 24th when she shared a throwback video of the group performing in Dublin in 2019 during their last reunion tour. In what seemed like a teaser for their alleged reunion, the singer wrote, “Can’t believe it’s been four years since we started #Spiceworld2019 in Dublin! Such a special night 💕💕💕 Thank you to everyone who came to the tour and sang and danced with us. Let’s do it again!”

The group has shown their closeness throughout the years, after all, “friendship never ends.” Four out of the five members celebrated Geri Horner‘s 50th birthday together last year, and Beckham has certainly been seen warming up those vocal cords with some Spice Girls karaoke. Is it too much to think there might be another tour in the works? Or a comeback show? At the very least, a commemorative t-shirt?

Despite being the best-selling female group of all time, Mel B also revealed that they have been planning their reunion project through “a WhatsApp group.” It’s also a communication method that boyband One Direction has been using amidst reunion rumors swirling around them. Whatever the Spice Girls have in store, we want to be there.
