At first glance, the “groutfit” – a monochromatic and substantial gray ensemble – may seem dull, even depressing. However, Meghan Markle has shown us how to make an all-gray outfit work to our advantage.

The Duchess of Sussex has spent the past few days attending meetings in Los Angeles, two hours south of her home in Montecito. Last night, Markle stopped by Asanebo in Studio City for sushi dinner with Terry Wood, the Executive Vice President of Oprah’s Harpo Productions. (This comes just over a week after she announced her new podcast deal with Lemonade Media).

But don’t expect any power suit. Markle opted for a low-key look for the outing. She wore a gray mélange sweater tucked into a pair of dark, slim-fitting jeans. (Could this be the return of skinny jeans, we wonder?) She added a pair of metallic Chanel flats and carried a gray Bellechasse Goyardine bag from Goyard.
