Gucci has appointed Stefano Cantino as its new CEO, marking the beginning of a crucial stage for the iconic Italian fashion house.

The fashion world has witnessed a major change at the top of one of the most iconic luxury brands: Gucci. The Italian brand, known for its legacy of elegance, innovation and avant-garde, has announced the appointment of Stefano Cantino as its new CEO, marking a new phase in its history.

Stefano Cantino‘s appointment comes at a key moment for Gucci, which has been restructuring its creative and commercial vision in recent years. The brand, part of luxury conglomerate Kering, has experienced a cycle of success under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele. The Italian designer redefined the house’s style with a mix of maximalism and eclectic aesthetics that appealed to new global audiences. However, with the end of that era and the entry of new leadership, the company experienced a 6% drop in revenue to 9.9 billion euros. However, in the fourth quarter, its revenues fell 8% to 2.528 billion.

Stefano Cantino is a luxury industry veteran with an impressive track record. Cantino comes to Gucci after spending the last five years at Louis Vuitton, where he oversaw the brand’s communication and image strategies. Prior to his experience at Louis Vuitton, Cantino worked for more than twenty years at Prada Group, taking on important roles in marketing and commercial areas, eventually becoming Director of Communications and Marketing. During his time at Prada, he is credited with much of the success in the global expansion of the Italian brand, also playing a key role in strategic development.

With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, his ability to integrate tradition and modernity has been fundamental to his success at the luxury firms he has worked for.

Stefano Cantino‘s appointment as CEO of Gucci marks the beginning of a new era for the brand, combining a historic legacy with a forward-looking vision. The designer, with his expertise and strategic approach, is challenged to keep the Italian house at the pinnacle of global luxury, while navigating the challenges of sustainability, digital innovation and the constantly evolving marketplace.
