After four years at the fashion house, Jones is bringing his time at the Italian label to an end.

Kim Jones has announced his departure from Fendi, where he has served as artistic director of the women’s and haute couture lines since 2020. The British designer, who is also responsible for Dior Men, will continue his role at the French house but will step down from his position at the Italian brand, thus closing the chapter that began after the death of Karl Lagerfeld, who led the brand for decades.

During his four years at the helm of Fendi, Jones stood out for blending the brand’s Italian heritage with a more contemporary style. One of his most notable achievements was reinterpreting classic codes with a modern sensibility, drawing inspiration from cultural and artistic movements like the Bloomsbury Circle, which influenced several of his collections.

Jones’s decision coincides with other significant changes in the fashion industry, such as the recent departure of Hedi Slimane from Celine and other moves within major houses in the LVMH conglomerate. Until his successor is announced, Silvia Venturini Fendi will continue to oversee the accessories, menswear, and children’s lines, ensuring the brand’s creative continuity.
