Pantone announces Mocha Mousse as the colour of the year 2025, a sophisticated brown shade that redefines elegance.
The Pantone Institute has revealed that Mocha Mousse (PANTONE 17-1230) will be the official colour of the year 2025. This warm and luxurious brown aims to reinvent the traditional perception of neutral tones, offering a blend of sophistication and closeness. According to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone, this shade reflects a yearning for everyday pleasures and a sensory connection to nature.

The versatility of Mocha Mousse makes it the ideal colour for fashion, interior design, and lifestyle. Pantone has also introduced two complementary palettes: Relaxed Elegance, which combines beige and soft pink with chocolate tones, and Floral Pathways, with fresh tones such as cornflower blue and leaf green. These combinations allow this shade to be incorporated into both minimalist contexts and more opulent decorations.
In the fashion world, this colour is already starting to appear in collections inspired by the 1970s, alongside tones such as terracotta and burgundy. Additionally, its natural elegance promises to make it a favourite for red carpets and fashion editorials.
Luxury brands like Hermès, Chanel, Max Mara, Fendi, and Chloé have embraced Mocha Mousse in their recent collections, highlighting this warm brown in suede, leather, and satin. This shade has been seen in flowing dresses, structured pieces, and accessories, reaffirming its prominence as a symbol of elegance for 2025.
