Some Marvel actors reportedly rely on padded suits to enhance their physiques, Aaron Taylor-Johnson revealed in a recent interview.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson, known for his role as Quicksilver in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, revealed how some Marvel actors achieve their transformations.
Taylor-Johnson’s take on padded costumes
The British actor, who recently portrayed ‘Kraven the Hunter‘ in a Sony Spider-Man Universe production, shared candid insights during an interview with Capital FM. While many actors dedicate significant time and effort to sculpting their bodies for superhero roles, Taylor-Johnson noted that others opt for less strenuous methods.
“I’ve worked on a few Marvel films. You know those suits are padded,” the 34-year-old actor explained. When asked about the presence of “built-in six-packs,” he confirmed it goes beyond abs. “Arms, glutes, everything. I’ve seen some wild padding. That’s a bit of insider gossip for you,” he added with a laugh.
His own transformation journey
To embody Kraven, Taylor-Johnson gained 40 pounds (18 kilograms) of muscle through an intensive training regimen and a strict diet. “I ate an obscene amount of food,” he admitted, describing the gruelling process.
Despite his physical commitment, the film performed poorly at the box office, recording historically low figures. Nevertheless, Taylor-Johnson’s honesty about the industry’s behind-the-scenes practices sheds light on how the pursuit of perfection sometimes leans on visual tricks rather than sheer effort.
