The Altuzarra Autumn Winter 2026 collection reinterprets Spanish art through contemporary tailoring, fusing precision, tension and theatricality.

Joseph Altuzarra’s vision for Autumn Winter 2026 embraces an intense Spanish sensibility, constructed around the balance between discipline and drama. Drawing inspiration from the realism of Diego Velázquez and the cinematic energy of Pedro Almodóvar, the designer builds a wardrobe in which identity is articulated through structured silhouettes and emotionally charged gestures.

Layering defines the visual rhythm: sculptural peacoats stand alongside weightless flamenco skirts in chiffon, while lace blouses with exaggerated cuffs are paired with textured tweed and knitted wrap skirts. Fabrics unravel at the hem, scarves drape with intention, and references to men’s dressing introduce a subversive elegance that echoes Luis Buñuel.

The collection balances strength and sensuality. Outerwear with matador-inspired shoulders commands attention, while fringed dresses and shirts create movement with every step. A seemingly restrained turtleneck reveals a calf-length cape at the back, proving that drama can emerge through control.

The colour palette intensifies the narrative: jewel-toned burgundies, vibrant greens, pale blues and deep browns interact in chiaroscuro contrast. Prints featuring fish caught in nets evoke the Mediterranean and reinforce the collection’s layered symbolism.

Presented in the historic Woolworth Building, the collection cements Altuzarra’s vision of wardrobe as identity — structured, emotional and unapologetically expressive.
