Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finalise their lengthy divorce after 8 years. Custody, privacy, and legal disputes defined this battle that impacted their family and children.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, once one of Hollywood’s most iconic couples, have officially finalised their lengthy and complex divorce after eight years. According to a close source, the couple’s six children wanted Jolie to defend herself more publicly during the process. While the children encouraged Jolie to speak out, she chose to focus on changing laws rather than sharing public stories.

The separation, initiated in 2016 after an incident on a private flight, involved custody battles and family tensions. Although Pitt was initially granted joint custody, the ruling was later overturned.

In 2017, both actors signed agreements to preserve their children’s and family’s privacy, keeping court documents confidential and using a private judge for legal decisions. However, documents obtained in 2018 revealed that Jolie could have risked losing primary custody if she failed to improve the children’s relationship with their father. Currently, Pitt has visitation rights with the younger children, while several of the older ones have taken steps to legally remove his surname.

Jolie, who describes her children as “especially shy and private people,” has focused her efforts on healing her family. However, a legal dispute over a French winery the couple once shared remains unresolved.
