The couple tied the knot in May 2021 after over a year of dating. After more than two years of marriage, Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez are going their separate ways.
TMZ was the first to report the news after the singer was spotted at the Wimbledon men’s singles final on Sunday without her wedding ring, but a source confirmed to People that she and Gomez have been “quietly and lovingly working on their friendship” following an initial separation earlier this year.
This development comes just over two months after Grande celebrated their second wedding anniversary, which commemorated the intimate 20-person celebration that took place at their home in Montecito, California, in May 2021. However, the Instagram post celebrating the occasion has been deleted and had the caption: “2 ❤️ 3.5 together. Love him so much.”

Prior to that post, Grande, who is currently in London filming the musical movie Wicked playing Glinda alongside Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba, last commented on her relationship status publicly in August 2022 when she debunked breakup rumors during a makeup tutorial on TikTok.

“I’m just not wearing my ring, it’s getting cleaned,” she told her followers, anticipating them noticing the absence of her ring. “I am not, like, going to be actively going out of my way to not show it off. I’m also not going to keep posting photos [of it] ’cause it doesn’t really matter. I don’t know. I just love [Dalton] and he’s the best. So, that’s it.”
Grande began dating Gomez in January 2020, just 11 months before announcing their engagement in December of that year. Although the couple mostly kept their relationship private during their time together, Ariana used to mention her now-ex on social media while celebrating his birthday or other significant milestones.
